Teens Mental Health Teen’s mental health is just what it sounds like. Your body is going through significant changes as you move from childhood into adulthood. Your mind will also continue to develop and grow with your body. Sometimes when you are growing from childhood to adulthood you will begin to feel anxious and confused. These feelings are normal and should come and go as you progress through the changes mentioned. If at anytime you feel that your feelings are too much for you to handle, you should talk to an adult. Mental Health Help If you think that you are suffering beyond what you can control, you may need to seek some mental health help. If you have a parent or adult you can talk to, they may be able to help you determine if your mental health is ok or if you need additional help. Mental Health Help can be assessed initially by your medical Dr., he or she will be able to help you determine if you need additional help. If you should need additional help, he may be able to refer you to a teen mental health help specialist. If you are unable to control your anxious feelings or if you are experiencing suicidal thoughts, it is very important that you talk to someone immediately. Adolescent Mental Health Most adolescent’s mental health is still under the care of the adolescent’s parent. If you are under the age of 12 and are in need of adolescent mental health advice, you should speak to your parent Adolescent mental health care can include things like diagnosing learning disabilities, and evaluating special problems the adolescent is having. It is rare but some adolescents are being given a diagnosis of bi-polar at earlier ages than in the past. Many adolescents have been given the diagnosis of ADD or ADHD, and being medicated for it as part of an adolescent mental health care plan.
